FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What’s the best time to have my maternity session?
The optimal time to capture maternity sessions is typically between 28 and 35 weeks of pregnancy, when your bump is beautifully rounded but you’re still comfortable enough to move around. That said, any stage of pregnancy is worth capturing - so the timing is completely up to you.
What's the best age to have our newborn session?
When it comes to timing, I generally recommend booking your newborn session anywhere between 1 to 6 weeks after birth. The first two weeks are often ideal for those soft, sleepy, and beautifully settled-style images. During this stage, babies tend to be more relaxed and sleepier, which allows us to gently guide them into those peaceful poses.
That said, sessions beyond those early weeks can be just as special — babies are usually a little more alert and expressive, and also squishier! So it really depends on the kind of feel you're after, and what works best for you as you recover and settle into life with your new little one.
What if we need to reschedule?
I get it, life can be unpredictable. If you need to reschedule, just give me 48 hours notice, and we can adjust our plans accordingly. Please keep in mind that the deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel within 48 hours of your shoot, you'll need to make a new deposit to rebook.
How do you accept payment?
Once we have chosen a date I’ll send through your invoice. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your session. This must be paid within 48 hours of receiving your invoice. The remainder is due the day of your session. Payments are accepted by bank transfer only.
Where are your outdoor sessions held?
I have several fantastic spots in mind, but I'm also open to using a location of your choice. I enjoy exploring new locations and collaborating with clients to achieve their vision. However, it's important to consider that both the location and season can influence the style and outcome of your gallery. Let's discuss your preferences and find the perfect setting that reflects your vision and complements the season.
What time will our session be?
Our session time depends on the session type and the season. For outdoor sessions, we usually aim for the golden hour around sunrise or sunset, when the natural light is soft and flattering. As for in-home sessions, they are typically scheduled for mid-morning to ensure optimal lighting conditions indoors. Let me know if you have any preferences or constraints, and we can work together to find the best time for our session.
What do we wear?
I'm here to assist you every step of the way, including outfit selection. My recommendation is to opt for neutral tones, steering clear of bold patterns, and adhering to a strict no logo or images on shirts policy.
